Types of Information We Collect

Overview. The information we gather generally falls into one of two categories: (1) information that you voluntarily supply when you register for our Service, initiate transactions on or through the Service, or participate in features we offer through the Service; and (2) information gathered on usage patterns and preferences as users navigate through our Service. In some cases, one of our agents or Affiliates may collect information on our behalf. Third party Service Providers that provide all or some of the services available through this Service may also gather the same kinds of information.

Registration Information

To make use of certain features available through this Service you may need to register as a Registered User and provide certain information as part of the registration process. We, or our Service Providers, may also ask for information if you buy products or services or conduct other transactions via our Service. The information you supply will help us offer you more personalized features, tailor our Service to your interests, and process e-commerce transactions.

The more you tell us about yourself, the more value we can offer. Supplying such information is entirely voluntary, but if you don't supply the requested information, we may be unable to provide you with services available to other users. We may receive or obtain information about a person who is not yet a registered user in connection with certain features of the Service, such as when a visitor subscribes to one of our newsletters or engages in a transaction. Visitor information is used only for the purposes disclosed when it was submitted.

Registered Users also have the option of upgrading to a Premium account. As a Premium member, you may be eligible for benefits such as special deals, rewards, subscription offers and prizes, as well as special offerings to attend events.

Contests and Other Promotions

From time to time, we may offer contests, sweepstakes or other promotions via our Service. If you enter one of these contests, sweepstakes or promotions, you will have to provide information about yourself so that we can administer and operate the promotion, including contacting you if you win and fulfilling any prize. If you don't want us to collect the information requested or to provide it to any of our Affiliates, Service Providers, and co-sponsors, please do not enter the contest, sweepstakes or promotion.

Email Newsletters

We may offer you the opportunity to subscribe to email newsletters through the Service. If you have opted to receive a particular newsletter, you may unsubscribe at any time. See "Opting In/Opting Out" below.

Cookies

To help make this site more responsive to the needs and interests of our users, we keep track of the pages visited by our users by placing a cookie — a small entry in a text file — on your hard drive. Our advertisers and Service Providers may also assign their own cookies to your browser, which is a process we don't control.

We use cookies to help tailor our site to your needs and to deliver a better, more personalized service. We may use cookies to personalize the ads you see on our Service, track pages on our Service, measure site performance, and measure advertising performance. You can manage your browser's cookie settings through the options menu on most commercially available web browsers, including options to notify you before accepting a cookie or to disable cookies entirely. If you set your browser not to accept cookies, you may not be able to take advantage of the personalized features enjoyed by other users of our Service.

Web Beacons

Our Service may contain electronic images called "single-pixel GIFs" or "web beacons," or other tools that allow us and our Affiliates, Service Providers, third party vendors, and advertisers to count users who have visited particular pages of this Service or to access certain cookies. Web beacons enable us to recognize a browser's cookie when a browser visits the site on which the web beacon is located. We may use these tools to recognize which links users click and to track how users respond to ads we place on third-party sites. These features may also be included in our email newsletters so that we can learn which messages have been opened and acted upon.

Browser Level Information and IP Addresses

Our web servers automatically collect limited information about your computer configuration or mobile device when you use our Service, including the type of browser software you use, the operating system you're running, the resolution of your monitor or mobile device, the website that referred you, the type of device you're using, and your IP address. We use this information to deliver our web pages to you upon request, to tailor our Service to the interests of our users, and to measure traffic within our Service.

Social Networks

When you use the social networking features on our Service, you may be asked to log in to a social network using your social network credentials. When you log in, we may collect information about you from that social network. The social network's use of that information will be subject to its own privacy policy, which may differ from ours.

Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics 4 and other third party analytics tools to help analyze how users use the site. These tools collect data to track and examine the use of this website, prepare reports on its activities, and share them with other services provided by the applicable analytics vendor. Analytics vendors may use the data collected to contextualize and personalize the ads of their own advertising networks where applicable.

We use data from analytics vendors to identify trends in the usage of our website for internal reporting purposes. You may opt out of Google Analytics tracking by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. You may opt out of other analytics vendors' services for display advertising using Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com.

Mobile Applications and Location-Based Information

Our Service may have the ability to use your precise geographic location to deliver content, services, and advertising tailored to your location. If you choose to enable our Service to use your location information, that information will be stored and used accordingly. When you use a mobile device or browser to access our Service, your device and browser may automatically collect and transmit your device's unique identifier, IP address, location information, device make and model, wireless provider, and related information to us and our Service Providers.

Data Collected in Connection with Ad Serving and Targeting

We use third-party Service Providers, such as ad networks, to serve advertising to you when you use our Service or visit other sites or applications. These Service Providers may use information about your activities to provide you with advertisements about products and services that may be of interest to you. You can learn more about such data collection practices and opt out of the use of cookies for interest-based advertising by visiting aboutads.info/choices or networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including to provide our Service, process transactions, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When personal information is no longer needed for these purposes, we will delete or anonymize it in accordance with our internal data retention schedules. If you would like to request deletion of your personal information, please contact us at marketplace@thelocalpalate.com.

When you access another site or service, use of any information you provide is governed by the privacy policy of the operator of that site or service.

Other Disclosures

We reserve the right to release information about users of our Service when release is necessary or appropriate to comply with law, enforce this Privacy Policy, or protect the rights, property or safety of users of our Service, the public, our customers, or our company and its employees, agents, partners and Affiliates. In the event we merge with another entity or transfer substantially all of our assets to another entity, information collected from this Service would be among the transferred assets.

Data Security

All information gathered through our Service is stored within databases operated by us or by a Service Provider on our behalf. For e-commerce transactions where you provide sensitive financial data, we transmit your billing information using encryption. However, no security system is impenetrable.
