TLP's Favorite Southern Snacks

We take food holidays very seriously at the Local Palate, so you better believe that we're welcoming February with open arms. After all, when better to justify a snack break, an extra cookie, or happy hour bites than during National Snack Foods Month?
As our team eagerly anticipates the month ahead, we're arming ourselves with our favorite locally made Southern snacks from the Local Palate Marketplace. Some of us prefer salty, others crave sweet, and a few of us want both in the same bite. From a team that spends a lot of time thinking about food, these are the Southern snacks we're using to celebrate February.

Southern Snacks We Can't Get Enough Of

Bertie County Boiled Peanuts
Boiled peanuts have been my favorite snack since I was a kid. I have great memories of my dad cooking them for hours before we’d head out on the boat or to the beach. Stocking up on Bertie County boiled peanuts ensures I always have some handy when I have a hankering.
Amanda Fitzgerald, Director of Sales and Marketing
Griff's Coffee Toffee
I'm obsessed with the balance of sweet, bitter, and salty in this toffee, with the right amount of coffee flavor and perfect snap when you bite into it.
Lia Grabowski-West, Associate Editor
Lowcountry Kettle Spicy Pimento Cheese Chips
Lowcountry Kettle’s Spicy Pimento Cheese Chips are the perfect Southern grab-n-go snack. The individually packaged snack bags pack big flavor.
Jacob Hollifield, Assistant Editor
Hub's Sweet Heat Peanuts
They're sweet and spicy down to the last bite. And, they go great with a cocktail.
Joe Spector, Publisher
Queen City Crunch OG Pretzels

My go-to snack is always savory—and if there’s heat, even better. The crispy, crackly Queen City Crunch Pretzels in the OG flavor have just the right amount of kick.

Erin Byers Murray, Editor in Chief

Lambrecht Gourmet Sweet and Spicy Glazed Pecan
A kick of cayenne elevates the addictive salty-sweetness of these pecans. I'll never tell Joe that I was the one who finished the office stash when he was on vacation.
Hannah Lee Leidy, Digital Editor
Olinda Olives
I love to create a mini charcuterie board of snacks on the weekend and Olinda’s olives are a must have for me.
Angelique DeClerq, Art Director
To me, Ella's Popcorn is the perfect snack. The Rainbow Celebration Pop, coated in white chocolate, is everything I love about funfetti cake but with the very welcome addition of that classic popcorn crunch. I'm all about balancing sweet with salty, so the Buffalo Ranch flavor is a must, too. The bags are resealable, but honestly? You might just finish the whole thing in one sitting.
Laurel Gann, Digital Marketing Manager
Queen City Crunch Cinnamon Sugar Pretzels
The Queen City Crunch cinnamon sugar pretzels are my favorite snackable treat. They're the perfect mix of sweet and salty–I can take down a bag of these in no time.
Maggie Ward, Events and Marketing Manager
